Meet the Team - Richard Coomber

Hazel is a way to democratise chemical risks. It takes an arcane world of complex difficult to access technical detail and makes it accessible and understandable to lay persons. This is valuable stuff and I’m really happy that I could get involved at an early stage. I am an engineer that fell happily into IT and Information Systems and this has taken me to roles all around the world – Oman, The Netherlands, China, Kazakhstan and others. I came back to NZ when the first of my four daughters started secondary school. I’m happy now based in New Plymouth, enjoying everything that Taranaki and New Zealand has to offer. The photo shows me operating the Manganui Skifield Top Tow the one day we got it running in 2022. Otherwise, I’m busy at Fitzroy beach surf lifesaving or rowing the surfboat, training and competing at Olympic Taekwondo, waterskiing at Whakamaru, hunting in the Pureora Forest, and even in a lemon at Nazcar motor racing.
